Amazon is finally ready to deliver its answer to Samsung's popular Frame TV. The Ember Artline, unveiled in January, will begin shipping on April 22 in the US and Canada, with availability expanding to the UK and Germany later. Pre-orders are now open.
The Ember Artline features a matte 4K QLED display designed to function as both a television and digital artwork display when not in use. The device comes bundled with access to over 2,000 pieces of art at no additional cost, spanning everything from classic Impressionist paintings by masters like Monet and Degas to contemporary street art, murals, and photography. The collection also includes 60 exclusive motion video pieces commissioned by documentary filmmaker Sam Nuttmann, featuring global landscape and wildlife cinematography.
Customization options are abundant. The television is available in 10 different frame colors, including finishes like faux wood grain and muted teal metallic options. Amazon has integrated a smart matching feature called "Match the room" that uses smartphone photography to suggest artwork tailored to your living space. Users simply scan a QR code from the TV, take three photos of their room's walls and furniture using their phone, and the system recommends pieces from the gallery that complement the environment.
Beyond the Ember Artline, Amazon announced a refreshed Fire TV Stick HD and introduced new capabilities for its Fire TV software ecosystem. The updated Fire TV Stick HD also grants access to the same 2,000-piece art collection and exclusive motion video content, allowing users to experience the artwork display functionality without purchasing the premium television.
The Ember Artline positions Amazon directly in competition with Samsung's Frame TV, which has gained substantial market traction among consumers seeking displays that double as home decor. By bundling extensive curated artwork and intelligent room-matching technology, Amazon is emphasizing value and personalization as differentiators in the growing art-focused television category.
