DJI has officially unveiled the Osmo Pocket 4, the latest iteration of its acclaimed gimbal-camera system that continues to dominate the compact vlogging camera market. Building on the success of the Pocket 3, which launched two years ago and became a staple among content creators worldwide, the Pocket 4 delivers meaningful performance improvements across multiple fronts.

The camera maintains its 4K recording capability while introducing a redesigned 1-inch CMOS sensor that delivers two additional stops of low-light performance, bringing total low-light capability to 14 stops. This enhancement makes the device significantly more versatile for shooting in challenging lighting conditions. The familiar 20mm equivalent f/2.0 lens remains, but now supports a maximum frame rate of 240 fps—doubling the Pocket 3's 120 fps capability—enabling up to 10x slow-motion recording.

Video quality sees notable advancement with support for full 10-Bit D-Log recording with high dynamic range capabilities, a substantial upgrade from the previous D-Log-M format. Users now have access to expanded shutter speeds ranging down to 1/4 second, providing creative control for achieving extreme light effects and artistic techniques.

Physical changes are modest but practical. Two new buttons positioned below the 2-inch display include a dedicated zoom control and a customizable function button. This customizable button supports three different commands through single, double, and triple-click inputs, letting users assign common tasks like gimbal rotation or recording preset toggles. The device now includes 107GB of internal storage, reducing dependence on SD cards while maintaining backward compatibility for expandable storage options.

The zoom capabilities have also improved, offering 2x lossless zoom during 4K recording and 4x zoom in 1080p mode. This represents an upgrade over the Pocket 3's 2x Mid-Tele zoom functionality, providing creators with greater flexibility in framing shots without requiring lens changes.

The Osmo Pocket 4 launches following months of speculation and leaks within creator communities. DJI's official reveal confirms that the compact camera continues evolving as the go-to option for vloggers and filmmakers seeking professional-quality results in a portable package.
